How much of your family is involved in racing?
My great grandfather built Wayne County Speedway, both my Grandpa and Grandma Jacobs raced at Wayne County. My father, uncle Dean, and Uncle Bud have all raced sprint cars and all have individual track championships. My sister Jennifer and I raced go-karts together, and my sister Kendra currently works for Hendrick Motorsports as a P.R. director for Mark Martin. I also have a cousin Chris Petit that is a tire changer for Robby Gordon.
When did you realize this is what you would be doing?
I had no real interest in racing sprint cars till I was 17 and all of a sudden something clicked and I knew this is what I wanted to do.
Who is your inspiration?
First and foremost would be my father. Along with him would be my grandpa Jacobs. Both of these men have done so much for me in my life and if it wasn’t for them I would have never known what sprint car racing is.
If you were not racing what would you be doing?
I would be a veterinarian, it’s a profession I have a lot of passion and respect for.
Favorite track
My favorite track would have to be Attica. You have the high speeds and intense close racing action.
Most challenging track
K-C raceway just because I have never felt comfortable there, I have always ran good there but I just feel weird in the car.
Best experience racing
The night that I beat my dad at Fremont. We were running first and second for a while and it was a lot of fun to be able to have that experience with my dad.
Worst experience racing
A freak accident at K-C raceway where a torsion bar came through my car and hurt my foot. It was just a scary moment and something that you would never expect to happen.
When you are not on the track, who do you enjoy watching race and who do you cheer for to do good.
I always cheer for my uncle Dean and Jac Haudenschild. Jac is one of those guys that you know is going to make every race exciting to watch.
Future goals in racing?
I want to win Championships and like everyone else in sprint car racing I want to be the first Jacobs to win the Knoxville Nationals
Anything else you think people should know about you?
I am currently attending the University of Akron where I am getting a degree in Early Childhood general education and special education. I am also an avid hunter and enjoy fishing.
